A pumpkin latte is a popular fall and winter drink that combines the flavors of pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg and other spices with espresso and steamed milk. It is also made with pumpkin puré that you can make yourself.
You can adjust the sweetness to your liking, and you can also use almond milk, oat milk, or any other milk alternative.
Pumpkin Latte step by step
You can add some honey or agave syrup instead of maple syrup or brown sugar to your pumpkin latte. Also, you can make a big batch of the pumpkin spice mixture and store it in an airtight container for future use.
Here is a recipe for making a homemade pumpkin latte:
Ingredients:
- 2 shots of espresso or 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee
- 1 cup of milk (any type)
- 2 tablespoons pumpkin puree, canned or freshly made
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup or brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Whipped cream (optional)
- Ground cinnamon (optional)
Instructions:
- In a small saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat until steaming.
- In the meantime, in a small bowl, mix together the pumpkin puree, maple syrup or brown sugar, pumpkin pie spice, and vanilla extract.
- Once the milk is steaming, remove it from the heat and add the pumpkin mixture, using a whisk to combine everything.
- Brew a shot of espresso or pour the brewed coffee into a mug.
- Add the pumpkin milk mixture to the coffee and stir well.
- Top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of ground cinnamon, if desired.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
